Mother Love

21st Century

From the movement in the womb
Kicking her with every turn
Mother watch her child come to age
Mother was proud of her child
This child of her
Was good and gentle in her ways
Everyone always gave praise
Of how well the child was behave
In such a world as today it hard
To be an angel and kind to all
Mother now thinks about
Velvet her first step
The trust in mother love
Velvet first words
Hold close to the heart
As velvet call to mother love
These words
Must tell about the night
Foolish act by a young boy
Of twenty-three years old
Took Mrs. brown baby girl away
With a bullet in her back
As she was walking along
Talking what
A pretty brown girl
Has on her mind
Football game was subject
Who know what a girl
Only thirteen years old
Foolish act of man
Cut her life short
She never has dreams
Come true
Velvet did not deserve go such way
She will be missed by friend family
The blame is on us
For we must teach a better way
We must remember
The children our future
Pray God grace be all us
To let our children come to age
In honor of velvet brown
Let work to stop the killing
We must promote love
In young children from the cradle
Like in the day of old
As the ancestor want us to do
Put love of God in our life
As we learn to love each other
We can live together
Stop the violent
Enough tears been spilled
Forever
Stop the violent stop the killing
In honor our young sister velvet brown
All of young life stolen away
We can make a different
Stop killing stop the violent

In honor of special young sister. Always the Charleston Community will embrace you. Your life with us was short but full of love. Many will miss you Vevlet Brown, 1989-2002.
