Aselleus

By Richard Thomas Cummings

21st Century

Asmodaeus shed his smoldering reign,
(Fiery hail---the sign of mourn)
For to him the touch of beauty
Arbitrated the elusional guise.

Aristotle bound to the metaphysical,
Systematic within coveted syllogisms,
Shed no empathetic discernment;
Acumen danced the halls of insight.

Achilles exalted in lament,
Renouncing to polemicized fraughts;
Retching upon receiving the Judas Kiss---
Astringently by the illuded hand of Izlude.

Alpheus ascending unto Ionia---
Candescent under the stars of Cancer---
Cantillating the mythical waves;
Analytical, logical, linguistic,---psyche!

Aselleus bared her blessing heart---
Loving mother to all above and below;
(Lapidary were her eyes---of lapis lazuli)
Asthenic she grew for her existence they never knew.
