When Every color is blue

By David L. Barber

21st Century

The sky is dark today
When every color is blue,
rainbows dim,
streams babble needless words,
weeping willows tears grim.
I miss you.

Sunsets are bleeding hearts
Crying for darkness to hide
Darkness waits
shadows reach out to me
Dove' nightly songs mournful
I'm alone

Soft sand is unforgiving
My steps disappear forever
Waves chilly
Animals scurry away.
No crystal sea
Only me.
