Redeemers Of The Dream

By William Brendan McPhillips

21st Century

Amid the devastation we are bound
By nature and creation to restore
Conviction to the notion rooted, found
Within our being, native to the core.

It is our native nature to be free
Of great calamity. We set our course
Against the timid impulse not to be
Self conscious seekers, dreamers, builders, source.

Within the catastrophic moments leapt
A whole conglomerate of human skill,
And though the heart was broken, millions wept,
The human impulse found its purpose, will,

And by intention set about to right
The broken heart, and city, promise, light.
