La Rosa
21st Century
I am not able to explain
This miracle in me
With words that are sweet refrains, I've met my destiny
How can he know my sadness?
How can he know the pain?
How did he reach inside my heart,
And give me life again?
I did not even understand
The search within my soul
A longing for tomorrow --
This hunger to be whole
I did not want to sleep at night;
I did not want to wake
Sorrow went so deeply now,
Too much to undertake
And in the midst of all this grief
I felt an angel near
To take away the hurt inside,
To banish all the tears
To teach me how to live again,
And tell me not to fear
And hope does lie beneath the snow
When roses do appear!
