My Time

By Andrew Murray

21st Century

For years i lingered in the back ignoring what was said,
Some scoffed, advised, others just thought, about my not getting ahead;
But while they jumped on pony's backs and rode towards the sunset,
I stayed behind, because with time, a much better ride i'd get.

It was hard to be still, while they were having fun,
But now my turn to ride has come and in front of them all i run.
So if you've got a plan in mind, ignore what others say,
Because though maybe not at first, you too will have your day.
